Publiceret 08-10-2025

Joint report from EUIPO and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD)

The report is published jointly by EUIPO and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) and it shows the results for enforcement of IP rights by EU enforcers at the EU border and in the EU internal market. The report is based on data from police, customs, and market surveillance authorities across the EU.

According to the report, in 2024, around 112 million counterfeit items were detained in the EU with their estimated value being over EUR 3.8 billion. Almost 74% of the products detained were recorded CDs/DVDs (including software), toys, clothing, clothing accessories, cigarettes (including electronic cigarettes), perfumes, and cosmetics.

As a new feature, EUIPO has launched an interactive dashboard that allows users to explore the figures in the report in a more accessibility and responsiveness way across all devices.
